2008 Parade & Party A Great Success

The 2008 St. Patricks Day Parade And Party Was A Great Success!
  • 1st Place Pipes and Drums
    Police Pipes And Drums
  • 1st Place Color Guard
    Police Color Guard
  • 2nd Place Marching Units
    GWPES Emerald Society

It was cold and windy marching but the feedback I got from people that were watching was that we looked sharper than we ever have and that was evident by the awards.

Congratulations to all who participated especially the color guard who looked like they were parasailing down Park Ave at one point but kept it together.

Also great job by Bob Belsito calling cadence. I was a little disappointed that we didn't receive anything for the float but realize that the judges were probably so focused on how silly Fran Ford looked that they didn't give it a proper once over.

Thanks to those who helped make it happen especially Al " Picasso" Donoghue and Annie " Van Gough" St. Onge.

HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED THE PARTY- I'VE HEARD THAT I DID.

HAVE A GREAT ST. PATRICKS DAY

Jim Doyle

Jimmy Doyle is recovering nicely from a broken leg he received in a fall on the ice. After a short stay at Fairlawn Rehab Jim returned home and is continuing his therapy there and told me he will be at the post parade party and possibly riding in the parade. When you see him wish him well.

St. Patricks Day Party

St. Paddys Day Parade is Sunday March 9th. We will be Selling T-shirts at the W.P.D. lobby on Friday February 29th from 9-4 p.m. We will have shirts and wristbands (for entrance to post parade party) available at the meeting at Maxwell Silvermans on Monday March 3rd at 7:30 p.m. and will also take applications and renewals at that time. NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THE DAY OF THE PARADE AS THIS TASK GREATLY CUTS INTO OUR BELOVED DRINKING TIME AND THEREFORE IS UNACCEPTABLE.

Hope To See You At The Parade
